Garry Cuthbertson, Lead Vocals & Guitar

A true product of the western North Carolina foothills, Garry has been singing and playing guitar since childhood. Raised in Rutherford County, he came of age during the early days of the legendary Green Acres Music Hall—a once-humble cinder block venue that grew into a regional landmark, known for hosting artists like Béla Fleck, Sam Bush, and Jerry Douglas. Immersed in that rich musical atmosphere, Garry developed a deep appreciation for classic country, bluegrass, and Americana.
Garry’s voice carries the warmth, grit, and soul of the country greats who inspired him, while his guitar work brings rhythm, emotion, and texture to every performance. His playing style is both precise and expressive—marked by technique that is uniquely his own. As the founder and frontman of Gilkey Cattle Co., Garry leads with authenticity and a passion for songs that tell a story. Whether performing for a packed crowd or an intimate gathering, he delivers music that feels timeless, heartfelt, and firmly rooted in tradition.
Kate, Fiddle

Kate began studying classical violin at the age of eight, inspired by a childhood filled with music—from father-daughter outings to orchestras, to evenings spent in intimate, hole-in-the-wall acoustic venues across the Southeast. These early experiences, often shared with her music-loving parents, exposed her to a wide range of live performances that left a lasting impression. (One such venue, Green Acres Music Hall, was particularly memorable; unknown to her at the time, future bandmate Garry Cuthbertson was also frequenting the same space, both in the audience and on stage, though the two wouldn’t officially meet until years later.)
Kate’s preference for improvisation soon outgrew the confines of classical music. Drawn to the expressive freedom of other musical styles, she dove into traditional Irish music, jazz, acoustic folk, bluegrass and Americana. By her teens, she was performing regularly with various musical groups throughout the region. Now, 30 years after picking up the fiddle, Kate brings to the band her own blend of melodic phrasing and emotional resonance.
