Garry Cuthbertson, Lead Vocals & Guitar

A true product of the western North Carolina foothills, Garry has been singing and playing guitar since childhood. Raised in Rutherford County, he came of age during the early days of the legendary Green Acres Music Hall—a once-humble cinder block venue that grew into a regional landmark, known for hosting artists like Béla Fleck, Sam Bush, and Jerry Douglas. Immersed in that rich musical atmosphere, Garry developed a deep appreciation for classic country, bluegrass, and Americana.

Garry’s voice carries the warmth, grit, and soul of the country greats who inspired him, while his guitar work brings rhythm, emotion, and texture to every performance. His playing style is both precise and expressive—marked by technique that is uniquely his own. As the founder and frontman of Gilkey Cattle Co., Garry leads with authenticity and a passion for songs that tell a story. Whether performing for a packed crowd or an intimate gathering, he delivers music that feels timeless, heartfelt, and firmly rooted in tradition.

Kate Durham, Fiddle

Nearly thirty years after picking up the fiddle, Kate brings to the band her own blend of melodic phrasing and emotional resonance. She was inspired by a childhood playing all kinds of music—classical to traditional Irish, jazz, blues, folk, country, bluegrass and Americana. Her earliest musical opportunities consisted of endless jam sessions and evenings spent in music venues across the Southeast (Green Acres Music Hall being one), which made a lasting impression and influenced her appreciation for the expressive freedom of improvisation. By her teens, Kate was performing regularly with various musical groups throughout the region. Her favorite musical influences include James Taylor, Shawn Colvin, Joni Mitchell, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Dolly Parton, Elieen Ivers and Eva Cassidy. Although fiddle is her primary instrument, she also plays guitar and sings.
